Sponsors make Boys/Girls State possible

Recently, there was a total of 13 boys and girls that attended the Arkansas Boys State and Arkansas Girls State from May 28 through June 2. The boys program was held on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, and the girls was held on the campus of Harding University in Searcy. During this six-day training, the boys and girls were able to learn more about citizenship, democracy and government. American citizenship is a priceless possession and the attending students were able to experience first hand the principles of democracy as guaranteed by our constitution.

On behalf of Siloam Post 29 of the American Legion and Unit 29 of the Legion Auxiliary our sincere thanks is given to the following businesses, individuals, and organizations that graciously donated money to cover the tuition for these students and allowed them to attend this great program: Faucette Real Estate, Simmons Foods, Siloam Springs Printing, Ward Jones Real Estate, Day Spring Cards, Morris Tax and Bookkeeping Service, Walmart, Centennial Bank, Generations Bank, Inuendos, Signature Plaza (Doug Allen), Grand Savings Bank, Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, Debi Selby, Art Morris, John Brown III, Dena Dickinson, Julie Coonrod, Carol Smiley, and Dr. and Gina Van Dyke

With out the generous support of these donors Post 29 of the American Legion and Unit 29 of the Legion Auxiliary would not be able to continue sending juniors from the Siloam Springs and Gentry schools to the Arkansas Boys and Girls State programs. God Bless our community and the United states of America! Thank you very much!
