The Siloam Springs football team will wrap up spring practice on Friday with its annual Spring Game at 6:30 p.m. at Panther Stadium.

The game will represent the Panthers' 10th and final day of practice in pads that are allowed in the spring by the Arkansas Activities Association.

Between missing players that play other spring sports and navigating back and forth between Panther Stadium and Glenn W. Black Stadium, it's been a challenge, head coach Bryan Ross said.

"I told the kids (Monday) it's been a crazy, chaotic spring, but I really feel like we may be ahead in some ways," Ross said. "We tried to really focus more football really since we started spring. We're still lifting, but we've really got to get more football in because we knew we were going to be missing people on padded days."

The Panthers have all of their players now, minus the ones that are still playing soccer.

"I think for the most part, the kids are about where we would want them to be," Ross said. "Spring is never going to look like the fall because it's limited. But I've been pretty pleased, really. With all the issues we've had about finding a place to practice, it could have really been a mess I think. We try to stay consistent with what we do so the kids understand what we expect and everything. It's been as good as can be expected I think."

The Panthers practiced several days at their old facility at Glenn W. Black Stadium at the middle school. On Monday, they held practice at Panther Stadium.

"We're not going to make excuses," Ross said. "We're going to find ways to get done what we need to get done. The kids have responded pretty good."

The team held a draft for the spring game after Monday's practice. The players were divided as evenly as possible and all should see playing time on Friday.

"It's a good way to end the school year and spring ball," Ross said. "We'll just have to keep it in perspective. There have been a couple of years where we've let emotions get out of hand. Kids want to beat their buddies. Everybody wants to trash talk each other. That's fun as long as you keep it in perspective. We've already talked to the kids about that. We're all on the same team. We're all trying to get better. You've just got to understand that."
