Seventh-grade boys win, girls lose against Stilwell (Okla.) Maryetta

The Siloam Springs seventh-grade basketball teams opened up their seasons this past Monday at home against Stilwell (Okla.) Maryetta at Panther Arena.

The seventh-grade boys won their game 36-29.

Levi Fox led the Panthers (1-0) with 11 points, while Nathan Vachon chipped in 10 points. Connor Clayton added seven points, Camden Blackfox five and Dalton Newman three.

The seventh-grade girls lost 31-27.

Brooke Ross led the Lady Panthers (0-1) with 15 points, while Sophie Stephenson had seven, Faith Ellis three and Grace Price and Brooke Smith each had one.

The Lady Panthers trailed 15-10 after the first quarter and 17-14 at halftime. Stilwell carried a 21-16 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Lady Panthers briefly took a lead in the fourth on a 3-pointer by Stephenson but weren't able to hold on.

The seventh-grade teams return to action on Nov. 30 at home against Moseley, Okla. The games at Colcord, which were originally scheduled for Nov. 20, were moved to Feb. 7.
