The Siloam Springs ninth-grade boys basketball team was defeated 48-25 by Fayetteville White on Saturday in the finals of the Gray Bracket of the 31st annual Allen Classic at the Panther Activity Center at Siloam Springs High School.
White led the Panthers 5-2 after the first period and 17-11 at halftime.
Fayetteville outscored Siloam Springs 19-6 in the third quarter to take a 36-17 lead, and the Bulldogs finished off the Panthers in the fourth quarter, outscoring them 12-8.
Breck Soderquist led the Panthers (2-1) with six points, while Jackson Ford had four. Max Perkins, Cam Collins, Will Gryder, Solomon Hufford, Alex Crafton, Trey Whorton and Cordova each had two points, while Elijah Coffey scored one point.
Ninth-grade girls
The Siloam Springs ninth-grade girls came from behind Saturday and defeated Stilwell (Okla.) 44-38 to finish third in the Girls Maroon bracket of the Allen Classic.
The Lady Panthers trailed 14-8 after the first quarter and 24-19 at halftime.
Siloam Springs (2-1) climbed back within 32-30 going into the fourth quarter where the Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Indians 14-6.
Julia Jackson led the Lady Panthers with 13 points, while Mia Hevener scored nine.
Sydney Moorman and Jadyn Still each scored seven points, while Makenna Thomas added six and Quincy Efurd two.

Both ninth-grade teams were back in action on Monday at Fayetteville Purple. Due to early press deadlines because of the Thanksgiving holiday, results were not available. See Siloam Sunday on Nov. 26 for results.
The ninth-grade teams will return to action Nov. 27 at home against Springdale George.
