Junior high girls take second in Greenwood XC meet

GREENWOOD -- The Siloam Springs junior high girls finished second overall out of eight teams in the 5A-7A division of the Greenwood Invitational on Thursday at Bell Park.

Rogers won the meet with 31 points, followed by Siloam Springs 55, Van Buren 101, Greenwood 111, Clarksville 142, Fort Smith Trinity 145, Fort Smith Ramsey 186 and Fort Smith Darby 214.

Emily Brown led Siloam Springs with a 14:15.20, followed by Grace Price in 14:19.90, Jacilyn Weilnah 15:09.60, Abby Thompson 15:56.20, Bethany Mejia 15:59.10, Shayla Conley 16:07.10, Hannah Glass, 16:08.60, Crystal Mercado 16:51.50, Kendra Reimer 16:54.00 and Leslie Cea 16:56.60.

Also running for Siloam Springs was Hattie Price 17:05.60, Sidney Pfeiffer 17:37.80, Vivian Conroy 17:47.10, Leahla Schochler 18:16.70, Faith Ellis 18:27.50, Lilly Cole 18:51.80, Deanna Floyd 19:41.60, Nyah Hostler 20:14.90, Samantha Blair 21:00.40, Alexis Blair 23:13.20 and Hannah Green 24:03.5.

Boys

The Siloam Springs junior high boys took third in the meet.

Rogers finished first with 15 points, followed by Greenwood 73, Siloam Springs 74, Van Buren 122, Fort Smith Ramsey 146, Fort Smith Trinity 151 and Clarksville 195.

Javier Chavez led the Panthers with a 10th place finish of 12:41.00. Levi Fox was 15th at 12:49.30, followed by Yani Trinidad in 16th at 12:49.40, Connor Clayton 18th 12:59.00, Jason Flores 19th 13:05.80, Wilson Cunningham 20th 13:07.10, Andy Almanza 25th 13:18.30, Dylan Garcia 26th 13:18.80, Jordyn Baskins 28th 13:19.90 and Dane Kelly 37th 13:40.30.

Bryson Yeager was 48th at 14:03.40, followed by Luke Fields in 49th at 14:05.70, Cooper Shaw 50th 14:08.80, Tate Broquard 54th 14:19.80, Camden Blackfox 55th 14:22.70, Seth Funk 58th 14:30.80, Gabriel Meehan 62nd 14:43.80, Logan Sharp 63rd 14:44.20, Nathan Vachon 65th 14:45.70, Canyon Cross 67th 14:50.80, Thad Goetz 68th 14:53.10 and Caleb Poor 69th 14:54.50 and Jacob Poor 72nd 14:59.10.

The eighth-grade runners participate next in the conference meet on Oct. 19, while the ninth-graders run their conference meet on Oct. 24. Both races will be at Bentonville.
