SPRINGDALE -- The Siloam Springs seventh-grade football team made it three wins in a row Monday by defeating Springdale Tyson 38-20 at HarBer High School's Wildcat Stadium.

The Panther defense forced a punt on Tyson's first series, and the Siloam Springs offense powered the ball down the field and got on the scoreboard first with a Gabe Cruz two-yard run. Cruz scored the tw0-point try for an early 8-0 lead.

Tyson scored on a 60-yard counter play to get within 8-6, but Siloam Springs tacked on another score on a QB keeper by Andrew Pilcher to lead 14-6 at half.

The second half saw the Panthers continue their ground attack by running backs Cruz and Marcus Molina and QB Pilcher.

Cruz ran for another touchdown and two-point conversion to make it 22-6. Tyson answered the score, buthe Panthers went up 30-14 after a 10-yard TD run and two-point conversion by Pilcher, which was set up by a 40-yard pass from Pilcher to Molina.

Pilcher had a five-yard run and Cruz ran in the two-point conversion on a reverse to go up 38-14. Tyson scored on the final play of the game to set the final score.

"Our offensive line of (Kellyn) Clark, (Erick) Favela-Munoz, (Dallion) Miller, (Jackson) Boles, (Ethan) Incencio, and (Alejandro) Castenada had one of their strongest games of the season opening up holes for the backs to run through," said head coach Chuck Jones. "When you can line up and get six to 10 yards per carry every play, that is fun to watch. Our offensive line has been working hard on coming off the football and getting to the proper blocking angles. Tonight all that hard work finally paid dividends for our team."

In the B game. QB Dillon Kleckner scored twice on long runs of 40 and 39 yards for the 14-0 Panther victory.

The Panthers return to action Monday against Springdale Sonora at Springdale High School's Jarrell Williams Bulldog Stadium.
