Los defeated at Overall tournament

NORTH LITTLE ROCK -- Siloam Springs senior Orest Los competed in the Overall State Tennis Tournament on Monday, where he was defeated in the opening round in straight sets by Fayetteville's Jake Sweeny at Burns Park.

Los lost the first set 6-1 before falling 6-0 in the second set.

Los was the second Siloam Springs player to qualify for the Overall in the last three seasons, joining Brazil exchange student Igor Jacociunas, who won the Class 6A individusal championship in 2015.

Los won the 6A-West boys singles championship on Oct. 10 and advanced to the finals of the Class 6A State Tournament on Oct. 17, where he was defeated by West Memphis' Carlson Bennage 6-3, 6-1.

Los finishes the season with a 16-7 record and 56-15 mark for his three-year career at Siloam Springs. Los moved to Siloam Springs with his family in 2015 from the Ukraine.
