JBU senior volleyball player Alyssa Arnold was named the NAIA National Setter of the Week, the national offices announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Waynesville, Mo., native secured her second Sooner Athletic Conference Setter of the Week honors of the season and the fifth of her career Monday before earning the national recognition. The 5-foot-9 setter passed out a career-best 51 assists in JBU's 3-2 come-from-behind win over Oklahoma City on Friday (Sept. 15) before adding 37 more helpers on Saturday against Central Christian (Kan.), averaging 11.0 assists per set on the week. Arnold also recorded her 1,000th career dig during the week while also serving up a trio of aces.

Beth Brankle, a Siloam Springs native, landed her third career SAC Defender of the Week accolades on Monday, by pacing the Golden Eagles in digs in the two wins over Oklahoma City and Central Chrisitan, finishing with 33 on the week, an average of 4.13 digs per set. It was the fourth time this year she finished with 20 or more digs while she also boasted a .964 serve-receive percentage on the week.
