Farmington bests ninth-grade football

FARMINGTON -- Farmington scored a late touchdown to pull away for a 28-13 victory over the Siloam Springs ninth-grade football team on Thursday.

The Panthers fell to 1-3 overall with the loss.

Eighth-grade

The Panthers' eighth-grade football team picked up its second win of the season Thursday with a 22-6 win over Rogers Lingle at Panther Stadium.

Josh Stewart and David Gowin ran for first-half touchdowns, and the Panthers defense recorded a safety to take a 16-0 lead at halftime. Stewart's touchdown run was from five yards out and he also ran in the extra point. Gowin's score came from 11 yards out.

Lingle cut the lead to 16-6 in the third quarter, but Stewart connected with Christian Ledeker on a slant route for a 32-yard touchdown to set the final score.

The Panthers (2-1-1) also got interceptions on defense from Hunter Talley and Lucas Junkermann.

Seventh-grade

The seventh-grade football team dropped a 34-6 decision against Harrison on Tuesday.

The Goblins scored on the first play of the game when what looked like a one-yard loss turned into a 70-yard touchdown run when the referee ruled the Harrison player's knee wasn't down. The Goblins rolled from there.

Siloam Springs' only score came on a three-yard touchdown run by Andrew Filter.
