Eighth-grade teams compete at Rogers

ROGERS -- The Siloam Springs eighth-grade track teams competed Monday in the Whitey Smith Relays held at Whitey Smith Stadium at Rogers High School.

The eighth-grade girls finished 10th overall, while the eighth-grade boys finished 12th.

In the eighth-grade girls meet, Fayetteville Woodland scored 216.5 points to finish first, followed by Bentonville Lincoln 111.50, Bentonville Fulbright 58, Springdale Central 57, Rogers Kirksey 48, Rogers Elmwood 42.5, Bentonville Washington 40.5, Fayetteville Ramay 31, Rogers Oakdale 12, Siloam Springs 4 and Springdale Southwest 3.

Sofia Lange scored two points for the Lady Panthers with a seventh-place finish in the triple jump at 29 feet, 5 inches, while Kami Hulbert was 18th at 27-7.5.

The Lady Panthers' 4x800-meter relay team of Jacilyn Weilnah, Hulbert, Kadynce Hilburn and Makyla Lemon placed seventh and scored two points with a time of 12 minutes, 11.47 seconds and scored two points.

Sidney Pfeiffer placed 19th in the 100-meter hurdles at 20.61, while Hailee Free was 20th at 20.69.

Yoceline Gomez was 22nd in the 100-meter dash at 15.52.

Laurel Granderson placed 22nd in the 1,600-meter run at 6:58.11 with Hilburn taking 24th at 7:06.80.

Rachel Davis took 18th place in the long jump with a mark of 13-1.5.

Allison Williamson placed 32nd in the 400-meter dash at 1:22.06 with Free in 34th at 1:23.93.

Hulbert placed 19th in the 300-meter hurdles at 1:00.75, followed by Pfeiffer in 22nd at 1:04.40.

Lemon took 24th in the 800-meter run at 3:04.07, followed by Weilnah in 25th at 3:07.65 and Granderson 28th at 3:18.24.

Gomez placed 23rd in the 200-meter dash at 32.95, while Free was 34th at 35.60.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Lange, Free, Gomez and Davis finished 11th at 59.40.

Eighth-grade boys

Springdale Central won the eighth-grade boys meet with 123 points, besting Fayetteville Woodland with 107, followed by Bentonville Washington 93, Springdale Lakeside 55, Bentonville Lincoln 53, Bentonville Fulbright 49, Fayetteville Ramay 45, Rogers Kirksey 39, Rogers Elmwood 32.33, Springdale Southwest 8, Springdale George 8, Siloam Springs 6, Rogers Oakdale 5.33 and Rogers Lingle 0.33.

Tate Broquard scored three points for the Panthers in the pole vault with a height of 8-0.

Steven Taylor placed sixth in the discus and scored three points with a throw of 106-1, while Alexis Miranda was 13th at 91-11.5 and Caden McHaney 19th at 85-5.

Miles Perkins finished 17th in the high jump at 4-8.

Ty Lewis placed 25th in the triple jump at 31-3.75, followed by Malachi Taylor at 29-10 and Jake McDaniel 26-6.

Colton Washington placed 11th in the shot put at 34-10.5.

The Panthers 4x800-meter relay team of Broquard, Ben Haak, Aidan Blevins and Javyn Whayler took 14th at 11:22.81.

Lewis placed 22nd in the 110-meter hurdles at 21.74, while Montana Herrel was 35th at 23.77 and Jake McDaniel 38th at 26.76.

Washington placed 20th in the 100-meter dash at 13.53, while Ezra Zaidner was 22nd at 13.58 and Zachary Hull 27th at 13.90.

Liam Scott placed 29th in the 1,600-meter run at 6:02.96, with Becan placing 39th at 6:40.78.

The Panthers' 4x100-meter relay team of Deyvn Higgs, Washington, Zaidner and Lewis placed 12th at 53.46.

Higgs placed 28th in the 400-meter dash at 1:06.12, while Whayler placed 33rd at 1:08.23 and Keegan Fessler 39th at 1:17.32.

Lewis placed 13th in the 300-meter hurdles at 51.07, while McDaniel was 32nd at 1:02.93 and Herrel 33rd at 1:03.7.

Scott finished 28th in the 800-meter run at 2:47.37, while Belvins was 29th at 2:47.51 and Haak 39th at 3:04.76.

Washington placed 26th in the 200-meter dash at 28.64, while Zaidner was 32nd at 30.46.

The Siloam Springs ninth-grade teams were scheduled to compete in Rogers on Tuesday. Results were not available at presstime.

The eighth-graders are scheduled to compete at the Fayetteville Ramay meet on Monday, April 9, while the ninth-graders compete at Gentry on Tuesday April 10.
