The Siloam Springs softball team exploded for a big first inning Tuesday against Harrison, but the Lady Panthers were unable to make the lead stand up as the Lady Goblins rallied for a 16-6 victory in five innings at La-Z-Boy Softball Complex.
Harrison (8-5, 7-1 5A/6A District 1) took a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but Siloam Springs answered with five runs in the bottom of the first.
After a scoreless top of the second, the Lady Panthers then added a run in the bottom of the second inning to go up 6-3.
Harrison scored three runs in the top of the third to tie the game 6-6, and the Lady Goblins pushed six runs across in the fourth to go up 12-6.
The Lady Goblins scored four more runs in the top of the fifth. Siloam Springs did not score any runs in the third, fourth or fifth innings.
Danielle Boyster and Sydney Smith each had two hits to lead the Lady Panthers offensively.
Boyster was 2 for 2 with a sacrifice fly and two RBIs, while Smith was 2 for 3.
Kenlie Noel had a base hit and drew two walks, while Jadyn Still had a base hit and an RBI.
Aliyah Hilbish had a base hit and a sacrifice bunt, while Ericka Galloway had a base hit, RBI and sacrifice fly.
Noel took the loss in the circle for Siloam Springs, while Jessie Robinson also pitched.
The Lady Panthers (0-10, 0-7) are scheduled to return to action on Monday for a doubleheader against Clarksville at La-Z-Boy Park.Sports on 04/15/2018
