Siloam Springs girls soccer coach Brent Crenshaw has been challenging his team all season to get better at putting opponents away.

Siloam Springs wasted no time in getting the job done Tuesday against Clarksville.

Siloam Springs scored three goals in the first three minutes on its way to a 10-0 victory.

"We watched film (Monday)," Crenshaw said. "We practiced some new corner kicks and today we talked about putting teams away. It was three goals in the first three minutes."

Siloam Springs' first goal came off a corner kick from Meghan Kennedy, who connected with Brooklyn Buckminster for the game's first goal.

Minutes later, Megan Hutto assisted on the first of Laura Morales' three goals on the day for a 2-0 lead.

Shelby Johnson played to Hutto for a 3-0 lead.

Morales would go on to score two more goals for the hat trick for a total of 10 goals on the year, which ranks second on the team.

"She's always been a good player," Crenshaw said of Morales. "She competes. She never has a down game. She just comes out and competes every game."

Hutto added another goal for her team-leading 16th of the season, and Sydney Moorman also scored in the first half as Siloam Springs led Clarksville 7-0.

The second-half time was cut from 40 minutes to 20 minutes via the sportsmanship rule, but Siloam Springs kept scoring.

Lily Slater, Maddie Vaughan and Shelby Johnson added goals as Siloam Springs improved to 12-2-2 overall and won its fifth straight.

Siloam Springs' junior varsity players got several key minutes in the second half and played well, their coach said.

Crenshaw singled out Vaughan, Sachi Lor and Gisella Batres among those players for having good games.

"Sachi Lor does a really good job at multiple spots for us, so I'm really happy with her progression," Crenshaw said. "Really happy with Maddie Vaughan up top and her athleticism. If she can learn more of the soccer knowledge stuff, she's a good athlete and she's a good player.

Watching Gisella Batres play in the back, she was on JV last year. She didn't play any varsity, and she's developing as a pretty good player. So that's good for our future too. We had young kids step up and we're still able to score three goals in 20 minutes."
