The John Brown University women's basketball team earned a spot on the annual Women's Basketball Coaches Association Top 25 Team Honor Roll, announced Tuesday, July 31, by the WBCA.

The Golden Eagles placed 16th on the list with a cumulative team GPA of 3.473 during the 2017-18 academic year, marking the second-straight season that JBU was featured on the list. The program now has three appearances on the distinguished list since 2000, also landing on the 2002-03 Honor Roll. All three times have occurred under head coach Jeff Soderquist.

The only other program from the Sooner Athletic Conference was Mid-America Christian (Okla.), which debuted just one slot behind JBU, with a 3.469 cumulative GPA, to finish 17th. The accolades marked the first appearance on the listing by the Evangels, led by second-year head coach Hannah Moeller.

The WBCA Academic Top-25 Honor Roll recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA and junior/community college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2017-18 season is the 23rd in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
