Laura Alice Kitchen

Laura "Alice" Kitchen, 91, of Highfill, Ark., died on Jan. 31, 2018, at Arkansas State Veterans Home in Fayetteville, Ark.

She was born on Sept. 10, 1926, in Tulsa, Okla., to Wilburn Baker Cole and Ethel Jane Walton Cole. She married Jack Kitchen on Sept. 20, 1950. She lived most of her life in Northwest Arkansas. She owned and worked as an auto upholster for KF Upholstery. She was a member of Rocky Comfort Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Gene Freed; a daughter, Sharon Lee Cross; three brothers, Carl, Marvin and Ed; and three sisters, Beulah, Della and Barbara.

She is survived by a son, Jackie Kitchen and wife Louise; 11 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Jimmy Ray Cole of Siloam Springs, Ark., Ralph Cole of Monett, Mo.; and Richard Cole of Reeds Spring, Mo.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs. Burial will follow at Douglas Cemetery in Highfill.

Lisa Dawn Phifer

Lisa Dawn Phifer, 51, of Watts, Okla., died Feb. 4, 2018, at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital in Siloam Springs, Ark.

She was born on June 18, 1966, in Siloam Springs to John Ray and Alpha Phifer. She was an elementary school teacher. She enjoyed the outdoors, she was an animal lover, and she loved to cheer on the OU Sooners.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by two children, Josef Phifer of Colcord, Okla., and Maddie Phifer of Checotah, Okla.; and five siblings, Jeff Phifer of Watts, Troy Phifer and wife Christie of Watts, Bobby Phifer and wife April of Adair, Okla., Debbie Guthrie and husband Tommy of Colcord, and Annie Phifer of Watts.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at Lowery Freewill Baptist Church near Twin Oaks, Okla., with Pastor Sam Andrews officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to your local animal shelter.

Lyndle James Taylor

Lyndle James Taylor, 87, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Feb. 6, 2018, at Siloam Springs Regional Medical Center in Siloam Springs, Ark.

He was born Sept. 27, 1930, in Time, Ill., the son of Arthur V. Taylor and Ethel McGlone Taylor. He served our country during the Korean War and was a Southern Baptist minister for several churches including Big Cabin Baptist in Big Cabin, Okla., Rocky Branch Baptist in Rogers, Ark. and Westside Baptist in Colcord, Okla. He married Jewel Vest on May 29, 2016, and was a member of Harvard Avenue Baptist Church in Siloam Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jacquelyn; son, Lyndle Jr.; two sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include his wife Jewel of the home; daughters, Kim Taylor of Vinita, Okla., and Kay Peters and husband Todd of Broken Arrow, Okla.; son, Mark Taylor of Lowell, Ark.; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Harvard Avenue Baptist Church in Siloam Springs. Burial will be 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Big Cabin Cemetery in Big Cabin.
