Lee Brown

Lee Brown, 94, died on Feb. 7, 2018.

His family includes Mary Box, Susan Hoffman, Kathy Thompson and husband Toby, Marjie Hefley, Shirley Clark and husband Matt; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Siloam Springs, Ark.

Interment will be at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark.

Sally Ann Downum

Sally Ann Downum, 67, of Elm Springs, Ark., died on Feb. 7, 2018, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark.

She was born Oct. 5, 1950, in Sioux City, Iowa, to James Joseph VonTersch and Loretta Baurely VonTersch. She married Donald Wayne Downum on Nov. 15, 1968. She worked as a cook for the Springdale school system for many years and also was a cook for the Kappa Delta Sorority House at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Angie and Joan Catherine.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Chad Downum and wife Sarah, and Brad Downun and wife Julie; one daughter, Amy Hood and husband Jason, all of Elm Springs; and six grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at the Elm Springs United Methodist Church with Carl Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Springs Cemetery.

Ruby Nadine Gatewood

Ruby Nadine Gatewood, 78, of Colcord, Okla., died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Ark.

She was born Nov. 8, 1939, in Swift City, Mo., to Alonzo Dea Arnold and Ruby E. Choate Arnold. She married Leroy Gatewood on Aug. 17, 1955, in Jay, Okla. The couple operated a sawmill, working side by side. She enjoyed, fishing, sewing, cooking, going out to eat, traveling with her daughters, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was of the Christian faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2012; five brothers, Delbert Arnold, Richard Arnold, L.D. Arnold, Thomas Putman and David Putman; and one sister, Dovey Richardson.

She is survived by three daughters, Velma Favor and husband Wayne, Elania Amos and husband Mike, and Angela Janes all of Colcord; one brother, Gilbert Arnold of West Siloam Springs, Okla.; one sister, Virgie Lillard of Sallisaw, Okla.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held on Feb. 9, 2018, at the Allen Cemetery, with Calvin Pathkiller officiating.

Cynthia Kay Hoyt

Cynthia Kay Hoyt, 62, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Feb. 6, 2018, at Hackett, Ark.

She was born July 6, 1955, in Roseville, Calif., the daughter of Amos R. Hays and Bettie Geraldine White Hays. She worked for the Arkansas Revenue Office in Siloam Springs. She was a member of Siloam Springs Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Schroeder; a son, Christopher Meador; and a grandson, Noah Schroeder.

She is survived by three children, Heather Mabry and husband Dennis of Hackett, Joseph Schroeder and wife Sarah of Lawton, Okla., and Kyle Schroeder of Hackett; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Deena Jeffrey of North Highlands, Calif., and Linda Moeai of Siloam Springs, Ark.

Funeral services were Feb. 10, 2018, at Siloam Springs Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial was at Gentry Cemetery in Gentry, Ark.
