Cameron named SAC Player of the Week

For the first second this season and the sixth time in her career, junior Baily Cameron was named the Sooner Athletic Conference's Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Shooting 34 of 58 from the field (58.6 percent), the Siloam Springs native averaged 28 points per game and guided the Golden Eagles to a 2-1 week, helping JBU stand at upping its record to 17-10 overall and 11-7 in league play. The league's second-leading scorer hit 7-of-10 from behind the arc (70 percent) over the trio of games.

As a result of also contributing 28 rebounds, five assists and four blocks, Cameron posted her third fifth and sixth double-doubles of the season with a 30-point, 11-rebound effort at Bacone (Okla.) before posting a 22-point, 11-rebound effort in the Golden Eagles' win over Texas Wesleyan. She now ranks first in the conference and third in the nation in shooting (57.7 percent).

John Brown now embarks on its final road trip of the regular season by taking on Oklahoma Panhandle State in Goodwell on Thursday at 6 p.m. before finishing up the regular season on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Wayland Baptist (Texas).
