Ninth-grade boys win at Rogers

ROGERS -- Siloam Springs' ninth-grade boys picked up a 24-21 victory at Rogers High on Monday night.

The Panthers trailed 5-3 after the first quarter, but they held the Mounties scoreless in the second quarter and took a 9-5 lead at halftime.

Siloam Springs extended its lead to 20-15 going into the fourth quarter.

Cam Collins led the Panthers (7-4) with nine points, while Max Perkins had five and Breck Soderquist three. Solomon Hufford, Jared Clark, and Jackson Ford each had two, while Elijah Coffey had one.

The ninth-grade girls saw their four-game winning streak end with a 39-24 loss to Rogers.

The Lady Panthers fell behind 14-9 after the first quarter and 25-15 at halftime. Rogers led 32-22 going into the fourth quarter.

Mia Hevener led Siloam Springs (8-3) with 12 points, while Sydney Moorman had five, Jadyn Still three and Julia Jackson and Quincy Efurd each with two.

Both ninth-grade teams host Springdale Lakeside on Thursday.

Eighth-grade

The Siloam Springs eighth-grade girls were defeated 52-29 against Fayetteville Ramay.

The Lady Indians led 13-9 after the first quarter and took a 33-12 lead at halftime. Ramay carried a 46-20 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Wynter Beck led Ramay with 12 points, while Caroline Lyles had 10.

Reina Tiefel led Siloam Springs (2-5) with nine points, while Sidney Pfeiffer had seven, Alexa Maxwell six, Halle Hernandez, Baylie Tate and Hannah Riley each with two points and Bethany Markovich one point.

Ramay won the eighth-grade boys game 50-22.

Siloam Springs led 8-7 after the first quarter, but Ramay outscored the Panthers 16-5 in the second quarter to take a 23-13 lead at halftime. The Indians extended that margin to 44-20 going into the fourth quarter.

Brendan Lashley led the Panthers with six points, while Jace Sutulovich and Caden Pharr each had five, Carter Winesburg four and Ezra Zaidner two.

The eighth-grade teams return to action at Springdale Lakeside on Thursday.
