Walaska Ruth Kohler Battenburg

Walaska Ruth Kohler Battenburg, 102, of Rochester, Minn., and formerly of Siloam Springs, Ark., died July 4, 2018.

She was born March 17, 1916, in Chicago, Ill. She worked as a waitress in Chicago before going on to teach high school business in Paxton, Ill., where she also coached the cheerleaders.

She married Henry Battenburg in 1940 and they were married for 59 years, living in Chicago, St. Louis and retiring to Siloam Springs.

In the 1950s she worked as a substitute teacher and started taking painting lessons, renewing her interest in being an artist. She was prolific in oils, acrylics and watercolors. She was active in education, civic, P.E.O., artistic and church activities.

In 2000, she moved to Madonna Towers in Rochester, Minn., where she took up writing poetry, some of which was published in the Rochester Post-Bulletin.

She is survived by two children, Alan Battenburg and wife Susan and Ruth Walts and husband James; a daughter-in-law; one granddaughter; a sister; and many loving nieces and nephews and their children.

A memorial service will be held at Madonna Towers at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16.

In lieu of flowers the family requests gifts to Madonna Towers, Seasons Hospice, First Presbyterian Church of Rochester, P.E.O., The Art Institute of Chicago, or a charity of their choice.

Lea Dale Belt

Lea Dale Belt, 79, of Sulphur Springs, Ark., died July 9, 2018, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark.

She was born Nov. 20, 1938, in Mountain Home, Ark., to Ralph Trivitt and Gladis Crawford Trivitt. She married John Belt on Oct. 5, 2001, in Bentonville. She was a member of the Colcord Church of Christ in Colcord, Okla.

She was preceded in death by two husbands; a brother, Gordon Trivitt; and sister, Marion Belt.

She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Green of Jay, Okla.; four sons, Mike Lewis of Jay, Rick Lewis of Colcord, John Hannon of Colcord, and Tim Hannon of Sulphur Springs; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Ark.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018, at Row Cemetery in Colcord with Mike Ellis officiating.

Danny Lee Crisp

Danny Lee Crisp, 60, of Gentry, Ark., died Thursday, July 5, 2018, at his home.

He was born on April 30, 1958, in Prairie Grove, Ark., to Lester Crisp and Laverne Jones Crisp. He retired from Benton County Road Division as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed watching and helping with dirt track racing, going to flea markets and auctions, and raising catfish.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roy Crisp.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Crisp of the home; one son, Brandon Crisp of Gillette, Wyo.; two daughters, Ginger Crisp of Stilwell, Okla., and Joanna Crisp of Tahlequah, Okla.; three stepsons, Darin Rigney of Gentry, Preston Irby of Salado, Texas, and Lee Irby of Kernersville, N.C.; three brothers, Gary Crisp of Garfield, Ark., Johnny Crisp of Westville, Okla., and Leonard Crisp of Farmington, Ark.; three sisters, Donna Hogshooter of Watts, Okla., Carolyn Colston of Watt and Joyce Perry of Decatur, Ark.; five grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Ann Harmon

Dorothy Ann Harmon, 71, of Colcord, Oklahoma, died July 8, 2018, at Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale, Arkansas. Born December 12, 1946, in Gravette, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Fred Hepler and Junnia Gatton Hepler. Dorothy married Delmar Harmon on October 29, 1967. She was a retired bookkeeping supervisor for Arkansas State Bank and was of Baptist faith.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Wilma; and her husband.

Survivors include her daughter, Deb Hamilton and husband Matt of Colcord, Oklahoma; son, Darrell "Dude" Harmon and wife Marena of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Bryan Harmon, Seagan Harmon, Dillon Boling, DeKayla Boling, Jimmie Hamilton and Mattie Hamilton; one great-grandchild, Kinsley Boling; brother, Dale Hepler of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; sisters, Doris Porterfield of Noel, Missouri, and Gerry Howerton of Noel, Missouri.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Westside Baptist Church, Colcord, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Row Cemetery, Colcord, Oklahoma. Robert Lamont, 70, of Tahlequah, Okla., died July 9, 2018, at his home.

He was born April 30, 1948, in Siloam Springs, Ark., to Robert Lewis Lamont and Frances Etalca Crumm Lamont. He married Teresa Randolph on Feb. 21, 1986. He was a retired evaluation engineer for Kansas City Southern railroad.

He was preceded in death by his sister.

He is survived by his wife; five children Daleana Taylor and husband Chris of Tahlequah, Robert Dale Lamont II and wife Misty of Lawton, Okla., Tsg. Kay Terrapin of Tahlequah, Frances Baldonado of Tahlequah and Lt. Michael Lamont and wife 2Lt. Lyndsay of Fairbanks, Alaska; eight grandchildren; and three brothers, Sam Lamont of Prairie Grove, Ark., Gary Lamont of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Mike Lamont of Springdale, Ark.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.

Catherine H. Pittman, 76, of Kansas, Okla., died July 7, 2018, at her home.

She was born April 19, 1942, in San Diego, Calif., to John Lincoln Russell and Catherine Winifred James Russell. She married Ernest Pittman in December of 1976. She worked as a secretary for auto sales. She was of Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband; children, Daniel Gannon and wife Nancy of Bentonville, Ark., Cheryl Ellis and husband Richard of Jane, Mo., and Clifford Womack and wife Rita of Caseyville, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Hewitt of Kansas, Okla.

Charlotte Ann Roberts, 69, of Colcord, Okla., died July 8, 2018, at Quail Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born April 26, 1949 in Siloam Springs, Ark., to Thomas and Lahoma Lucas.

She was a graduate of Siloam Springs High School and worked for Walmart before retiring.

She loved to cook, buy presents for her grandchildren and fish.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by a son, Galen Roberts of Siloam Springs; two brothers, Tim Lucas of Siloam Springs and Tom Lucas of White Bird, Idaho; and two grandchildren, Shelby and Sarah of Los Angeles, Calif.

Sheila Tilghman-Carter

Sheila Tilghman-Carter, 64, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018, in Rogers, Arkansas.

Sheila was born on June 16, 1954, to Herbert and Edna Brungardt in Bennett, Colorado. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, crossword puzzles, traveling, and spending time with her grandkids. She cherished family time.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert "David" Brungardt and Edna Mae Bell-Brungardt; her husband, Rex Tilghman; and brother, Brian Brungardt.

She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Carter of the home; two sons, Jeff Tilghman and wife, Andrea of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Chad Tilghman of Siloam Springs, Ark.; one daughter, Tina Smith and husband, Wayne of Kansas, Okla.; two brothers, Gary Brungardt and wife, Bernie of Colorado, and Greg Tilghman and husband, David Starlin of Des Moines, Iowa; two sisters, Jo Richardson of Denver, Colo., and Mary Herbaugh and husband, Robert of Jay, Okla.; 15 grandchildren, Jackie, Nikki, Kaitlyn, Blair, Andrew, Daeton, McKinzey, Thai, Faith, Miranda, Anna, Alandrea, Chaise, Abigail, and Blaike; two great-grandchildren, Daisy and Domonic; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Ark. The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home. Pastor Leroy Bilby will officiate the service.
