Marty Joe Maxwell Jr. was promoted to sergeant in the U.S. Army in June 2018.
Maxwell is stationed at Fort Riley, Kan. He is in Bandit Troop, 1st Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division.
Maxwell graduated from Colcord (Okla.) High School in 2012. He is the son of Iretha and Marty Maxwell.
