Running from the police is never wise, but a Siloam Springs man allegedly attempted it twice unsuccessfully in a two-week span, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Adam Brooks Flores, 27, of 14830 Arkansas Highway 43 South in Siloam Springs, whose latest incident allegedly occurred around 11 p.m. on March 2 after an attempted traffic stop on Highway 43 ended up with a Ford F-150 bolting down a private drive -- reaching speeds up to 60 miles per hour -- and then through a field before eventually crashing "onto a creek area," according to the affidavit filed by Benton County Deputy Sheriff Kelby Jenison.

Jenison wrote in the affidavit that he observed a white Ford F-150 that "looked similar to a vehicle involved in thefts and forgery cases from pictures provided to me by the Generations Bank in Siloam Springs." Jenison wrote he observed a brake light was out and he activated his emergency blue lights to stop the vehicle after it turned onto a private drive "off of Highway 43 before Sequoyah Road."

After crashing into a creek area, the occupants fled on foot and Jenison was able to arrest Flores. Also, according to the affidavit, dispatch said the vehicle was reported as stolen in Carthage, Mo.

According to the affidavit, a search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a .380 handgun with a round in the chamber and checks that did not belong to either occupant in the vehicle. In addition, also found was a black zippered pouch with "several used syringes along with a metal spoon" and syringe caps with a substance that field tested for methamphetamine, according to the affidavit.

Flores was charged in connection to fleeing, theft by receiving, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia (methamphetamine) and possession of a firearm by certain persons.

Flores was booked into Benton County Jail and remains there on two $100,000 bonds in connection with the fleeing charges. He has court dates scheduled for April 7 and 8 in Benton County Circuit Court.

On Feb. 17, Flores was arrested in connection with fleeing by vehicle and by foot, aggravated assault upon a certified law enforcement officer, possession of firearms by certain persons and possession with intent to deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance. His court date for those charges is March 26.
