Hungrytown is coming to town.

The world-wide touring band, Hungrytown, will perform a free concert at the Siloam Springs Public Library from 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20. It's one of only two stops in the state of Arkansas and the award-winning folk music group's first trip to Siloam Springs.

"We figured with us being in an area of having folk music in Arkansas that they would be a good choice to bring people in," said library manager Dolores Deuel. "They said their music is geared towards adults, but we talked and they said it would be a family-friendly event, so everyone is welcome."

Based out of Townsend, Vt., members Ken Anderson and Rebecca Hall have been touring for more than a decade and have released three albums. Their songs receive extensive radio play worldwide and they've performed at venues across North America and as far away as Europe and New Zealand. They've even appeared on television shows like "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central, "Portlandia" on IFC and "Lady Dynamite" on Netflix.

"I realize the music may be a little different than we're used to, but I just like to hear different types of music if you know what I mean," Deuel said. "With them coming from a different part of the country, it's good to have different stuff. The library is a great place where you can read a variety of books and listen to a variety of music and this fits right in with that."

It also fits in with the theme of the library's summer reading program, which is "Library Rocks." Deuel said a major focus of the program will be music, so "this will be a great lead-in up to that."

The folk band duo has received positive reviews and won numerous awards like the The 50 Best Albums in both 2015 and 2011 by New York Music Daily, Folkradio.org's Top Songs, Top Albums and Top Artists of 2015, the BBC Wiltshire's Best of the Guests of 2015 and, among others, the WDCB Folk Festival's Top Fave Albums and Top Fave Songs of 2015.

Deule said the library has hosted several summer concerts in the past in its meeting room, which will be packed with chairs and a seating area in front of the chairs for children.

"We would love to fill the room," Deuel said. "I'm not sure how many people we are expecting, but we can hold approximately 150 on the chairs, and if there are some standing up, we can hold more."
