A response to 'A Fierce Battle' by Ron Wood

Ron Wood writes of the "mindless media" having "popularized sexual libertarianism" where "nothing is immoral" and "anything goes." When he lists that "marriage, moral virtue, self-control," etc., "these are antithetical to modern libertarians or progressives" he is obviously continuing his rabid attack on those immoral Democrats of his July 12, 2018, article "Government Shift."

I was struck by his comment, "As a pastor and lifelong Bible student, I have come to believe in the idea of 'sacred sex.'" Did he get that idea from Bible study? How about the 32,000 Midianite virgin girls God allowed the Israelite soldiers to rape after having murdered all their mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters, including all the pregnant women? "Sacred sex" sanctified by God? (Numbers 31:17-35)

Or maybe he learned to appreciate "sacred sex" from Deuteronomy 21:10-14. If an Israelite soldier sees a beautiful woman among war captives and wants her for a wife, he can take her home, let her mourn the murder of her family for a month. After that, he can 'go in to her' but if she is not good in bed and he wants to be rid of her he has to let her go free, he can't sell her like a used camel because he has dishonored her. Sacred Sex? Where does she go? How does she survive?

Many of us "progressives" are open to limited abortion for certain causes and within certain time frames, NOT abortion on demand as most religious Republican bigots are wanting to paint everyone who is not anti-abortion. Since this is a "Christian Nation" by a majority, it follows that the majority of abortions are Christians, NOT immoral atheists.

No army of abortion doctors can match the abortions God imposed on the unborn in the Genesis flood, the genocide of the Canaanites, Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. (Exodus 23:20-23) Then there is Hosea 13:15-16 where God says he will "have no compassion," he will have the "pregnant women" of Samaria "ripped open."

That white robe of hypocritical morality being flaunted by many of the clergy is nothing but poorly tanned sheepskin.

P.S. I can't help it if I'm right. (See "Government Shift" by Ron Wood)
