Everett 'Dannie' Amos

Everett "Dannie" Amos, 88, of Jay, Okla., died Oct. 5,2018, at Circle of Life Hospice at Legacy Village in Bentonville, Ark.

He was born Aug. 31, 1930, in Decatur, Ark., to Frank Wilbert Amos and Estelle Pearl Londagin Amos. He married Loretta June Hurt on June 30, 1952. He worked for A1 construction and also raised dairy cows for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of Colcord (Okla.) First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Francis, Harold, I.D. and Ervin; sister, Betty.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Randall Amos and wife Julia of Gravette, Ark., Ronald Amos of Berryville, Ark., and Michael Amos and wife Elania of Colcord; a daughter, Lisa Larmon and husband Phillip of Kansas, Okla.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Guss of Tulsa, Okla., and Joyce Tosh of Owasso, Okla.; and two brothers, L.B. Amos of Inola, Okla., and Earl "Doc" Amos of Colcord.

Funeral services were Oct. 8, 2018, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, Ark. Burial was at Dickson Cemetery in Cherokee City, Ark.

Dennis Edmond Vaughan

Dennis "Ed" Vaughan, 86, of Kansas, Okla., died on Oct. 7, 2018, at his home.

He was born Oct. 17, 1931, in Quay County, N.M., to Noah Richard Vaughan and Maude Ida Jackson Vaughan. He moved to Kansas, Okla., when he was four years old and lived most of his life there. He graduated from Kansas High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After he returned, he joined American Legion Post #45 of which he was a lifetime member. He married Marilyn Bayless on May 4, 1968, in Tulsa, Okla. He worked as a builder, carpenter and electrician for many years. He spent the last 16 years over the maintenance and janitorial department at Kansas Public Schools. He was a member of the Kansas Church of Christ for nearly 50 years.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Dale Vaughan and wife Donna, of Kansas, Okla., Kenneth Vaughan and wife Debbie of Turon, Kan., and Dennis Vaughan and wife Vickie of Tonkawa, Okla.; a daughter, Joyce Wilkerson and husband Mike of Kansas, Okla.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Ark.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at Kansas Church of Christ in Kansas, Okla., with Mike Ellis officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
