Teddy Faye Downum

Teddy Faye Downum, 75, of Elm Springs, Ark., died Sept. 3, 2018, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

He was born Sept. 9, 1942, in Elm Springs, Ark., to George Olen Downum and Mary Alene Burnett Downum. He married LaDena Mitchell on May 8, 2010. He was a barber and owned Ted's Barber Shop in Elm Springs for more than 42 years. He was a member of Elm Springs United Methodist Church, Ozark Cattlemen's Association and was a Mason. Teddy loved fishing, woodworking, gardening, working with cattle, telling stories and was quite a jokester.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Naomi.

He is survived by his wife; three children, Sarah Freitag and husband Scott of Eagle Rock, Mo.; Joe Downum and wife Kimberly of Elm Springs, and Andy Downum and wife Maverin of Elm Springs; six grandchildren; and three brothers, Gene Downum and wife Joanna of Porterville, Calif., Gary Downum and wife Linda of Elm Springs, and Donald Downum of Elm Springs.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at Elm Springs United Methodist Church in Elm Springs.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Elm Springs United Methodist Church in Elm Springs. Burial will follow at Elm Springs Cemetery.
