N. Sue Hurt

N. Sue Hurt, 83, of Colcord, Okla., died Sept. 11, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo.

She was born Dec. 4, 1934, in Gravette, Ark., to Charles Alvin Cartwright and Marjorie Lucille Foster Cartwright. She married Glen Hurt on July 5, 1952. She was a homemaker, farmer and member of Colcord Church of Christ in Colcord, Okla.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Harry Amos; and husband.

She is survived by two sons, Gerald Hurt of Colcord and Derald Hurt and wife Linda of Jay, Okla.; a daughter, Glenda Sue Dowd and husband Tom of Siloam Springs, Ark.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Julie Williams of Colorado, Cheryl Belleno of Montana, Irene Bishop of Oklahoma, Billie McClain of Missouri and Nancy Waller of Missouri; and three brothers, Butch Cartwright of Hawaii, Kenneth Cartwright of Oregon and Gene Amos of Oklahoma.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs.

Dixie "Daisy" Beatrice Wilson

Dixie "Daisy" Beatrice Wilson, 86, of Gentry, Ark., died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at the Legacy Village in Bentonville, Ark.

She was born Feb. 12, 1932, in Teresita, Okla., to Sam Wofford and Bertha Webb Wofford. She married Denver Wilson Sr., on May 16, 1969, in Miami, Okla. She retired from Peterson Farms. She enjoyed crocheting, canning, fishing with her husband, doing word searches, yard sales, collecting dolls and thimbles, and listening to Conway Twitty.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Jack and Vollie Wofford; two sisters, Jewell Cowan and Lucille Blair; her son, Larry Williams; and a son-in-law, Kerry Vincent Thompson.

She is survived by two daughters, Jackie Whitehead and husband Denver, and Lori Johnston and husband Kevin, all of Gentry; two sisters-in-law, Linda Sanders-Smith of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Thelma Greenberg of Prairie Village, Kan.; one brother-in-law, Marvin Wilson of Fayetteville, Ark.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at the Gentry Cemetery on Sept. 15, 2018, with the Rev. Dale Johnston officiating.
