Kansas rides Glass to win

KANSAS, Okla. -- Kansas scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to earn a 20-6 win over Nowata on Friday in its District 2A-4 opener at Dee Neel Stadium.

The game was tied 6-6 at halftime after both teams scored touchdowns in the second quarter.

The Comets (3-1, 1-0) got a huge game from senior running back Daris Glass, who rushed 34 times for 267 yards and two touchdowns. Easton Wiggins also scored a touchdown for Kansas and had an interception on defense.

The Comets host Salina this week in a conference game.

Colcord 40, Quapaw

Colcord remained undefeated with its third straight shutout victory.

Raven Difrancisco threw for 135 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 108 yards. Running back Blake Gonzales rushed for 195 yards and two touchdowns.

Stormy Odle, Aidan Parker and Chad Kendrick all caught touchdown passes for the Hornets.

Colcord plays at Commerce this week.

Watts 40, Porum 0

The Engineers improved to 4-0 Friday with the shutout win at Porum.

Jesse and Avery Guyll each returned fumbles for touchdowns. Aaron Mitchell had two touchdown runs in the first quarter while Blayn Harlin had a 55-yard touchdown run. Donovan Hammer caught three passes for 50 yards and Grant had a TD run.

The Engineers play at Arkoma on Friday.

Oaks 36, Cave Springs 14

Oaks earned its first win of the season on homecoming Friday at Tucker Field. Aaron Budder threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns. TJ Cummings caught sevne passes for 120 yards and two scores. Bret Hogshooter rushed for 105 yards. Christian Glass returned a punt fo ra touchdown. The Warriors (1-3) return to action Oct. 5 against Foyil.
