Gift shops reopens inside new Regional Hospital

— Siloam Springs Hospital Auxiliary Inc. recently opened its gift shop at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital, 603 N. Progress Ave.

The gift shop offers items such as jewelry, sundries, snacks, baby items, purses, stuffed animals, candles, lotion, western-themed décor, half-priced items and much more.

All money earned at the gift shop is used to for local scholarships. The auxiliary awards scholarships to high school students and adult students who plan to pursue a career in the medical field.

“At our new gift shop, we have a lot more newitems and a whole section dedicated to gifts for newborns,” Nancy P. Van Poucke, gift shop manager, said. “The gift shop is a great placeto do shopping for birthdays and holidays - especially Christmas. You can find unique gift items here that you won’t find anywhere else.”

In addition to selling merchandise, the gift shop volunteers also create special “goodie bags” for children that are hospitalized.

“We offer a little gift bag, at no charge, to children from toddlers to teens who are patients in our hospital,” Van Poucke said. “We put items in the bags that are fun and help pass the time a little faster while they are here.”

The gift shop is located inside the main lobby of Siloam Springs RegionalHospital beside the information desk. Gift shop hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The gift shop is closed for all holidays.
