David E. Craig, Sr.

David E. Craig, Sr., 63 years, of Anderson, Missouri, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014, at his home.

David was born on May 20, 1950, in Noel, Missouri, and raised on the family farm north of the Beaty Community, northwest of Gravette, Arkansas. He went to school at Gravette, Arkansas, where he graduated in 1968. David went on to study Diesel Mechanics at the Petit Jean Vo Tech School in Morrilton, Arkansas, and returned to Northwest Arkansas to begin his career of 40 plus years working for several local tractor dealerships before becoming a self-employed diesel and tractor mechanic in 1993 for the remainder of his career until his retirement in 2010.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter (Paul) Craig and Deloris Rankin Craig, his partner of eight years, Michele Ferguson Bordoy, her daughter, Christy Bordoy, and great niece, Kaicee Josephine Willis.

David is survived by his two brothers, Dwayne E. Craig and Tim Craig of Gravette, Arkansas; two sisters, Sandra (Paulette) Choate of Harrison, Arkansas, Patricia (Patty) Pianalto of Springdale, Arkansas; four sons, David E. Craig, Jr., Travis E. Craig both of Gravette, Arkansas, Steve DeMoss of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Roger DeMoss of Nashville, Tennessee; and Sammie Bordoy Platt of Anderson, Missouri, who David called his daughter and her brother Christopher Ferguson of Nixa, Missouri. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Samantha and Newlly Craig, Wyatt E. and Madelyn Craig; Kaci Bickford and Natalie Bordoy. David is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A Celebration of David's Life was held on Saturday, June 7, 2014, from 2-5 p.m. at the home place on Beaty Road (Beaty Farm #1) on the corner of Beaty and Sibley Roads. Please bring lawn chairs and stories to share with everyone about David. This will be a very informal service as this was David's wish.

Harold Dan Seitz

Harold Dan Seitz, 80, of Siloam Springs, AR, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at the Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville, AR.

Harold was born December 13, 1933, in Kingston, AR; he was the son of Dan Seitz and Donnie Wright Seitz. He graduated from Colcord High School and was a member of the first Baptist Church of Siloam Springs. Harold was a Mason and a member of Key Lodge # 7 F & A.M., Order of the Eastern Star, the Scottish Rite, American Legion, Arkansas Shorthorn Association, National Shorthorn Association.

Harold is survived by his wife Arretta Ann Farley Seitz of the Home, a son Joshua Seitz & wife Dominique, grandson Taylor Seitz of Lavaca, AR, a brother Carl Seitz of Siloam Springs, AR, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Skelton and Barbara Louck.

Visitation was held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 5, 2014, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

The service was held at the First Baptist Church of Siloam Springs on Friday, June 6, 2014, at 2 p.m. Rev. Phil Misenheimer and Dr. Steve Abbott officiated the service. A private burial was held at Weddington Cemetery in Wedington, AR, under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, AR.

Joyce Marie Sweet

Joyce Marie Sweet, 74, died June 1, 2014, at home.

She was born April 27, 1940, in West Siloam Springs, Okla., to Fred O. Brown and Grace Tillery.

She was a graduate of Colcord (Okla.) High School. She married Arlan Sweet. She loved to watch birds feed.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2009; and a brother, Dale Brown.

She is survived by a daughter, Melissa Earp and husband Jarrod of Colcord; a son, Calvin Leon Sweet of Colcord; two grandchildren; and a sister, Freda Proctor of Colcord.

Memorial service was Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Bethel Methodist Church in West Siloam Springs, Okla.

Barbara Jane Thompson

Barbara Jane Thompson, 76, of Gentry, Ark., died June 3, 2014, at her home.

She was born Dec. 31, 1937, in Ranger, Texas, to George Edward Harper and Annie Viola Kimmel Harper.

She married Raymond Earl Thompson in Ranger, Texas. They were married for more than 50 years. She worked in quality control at Franklin Electric for more than 26 years. She was a member of several square dance clubs in the area.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and a sister.

She is survived by a son, Robert Thompson of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two daughters, Becky Monk of Tulsa, Okla., and Sue Thompson of Siloam Springs; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bill Harper of Layton, Utah, and Tommy Harper of Waco, Texas.

Memorial service was Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Gum Springs Baptist Church in Siloam Springs with Gordon Topping and Dwight Hignite officiating.
