Track teams finish first at Gentry meet

GENTRY -- The Siloam Springs track teams picked up their first victories of the season as a team as the Panthers and Lady Panthers each finished first at the Pioneer Relays.

Panthers

The Panthers scored 159 points to finish 15 points in front of host Gentry, which had 144. Prairie Grove finished with 75 points, while West Fork had 67.5, Shiloh Christian 63, Decatur 45, Pea Ridge 36, Lincoln 33 and Gravette 16.5.

In the 100-meter dash, John David Horn finished third and scored six points with a time of 11.08 seconds. Parker Baldwin finished fourth at 11.23 and scored five points. Trent Lion finished 15th at 11.97.

Baldwin finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.16 and scored eight points. Lion finished seventh at 24.14 and scored two points, while Horn placed 10th at 24.91.

Zachary Beacon finished 14th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.17.

Austin Cooper took first place for Siloam Springs in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:14.00, scoring 10 points. Gavin Efurd placed second and scored eight points at 2:16.00.

Elliott Pearson placed first in the 1,600-meter run and scored 10 points with a time of 4:53.00, while Porter Lasater was third and scored six points at 5:10.00. Conner Humphrey placed fifth at 5:13.08 and scored four points.

Pearson also took first place in the 3,200-meter run and scored 10 points with a time of 10:42.00. Humphrey placed third at 11:39.00 and scored six points. David Williams placed eighth at 13:29.00 and scored one point.

The Panthers did well in the 110-meter hurdles with Aaron Capehart finishing second at 18.24 seconds and scoring eight points. Ryke Beever placed third at 18.33 and scored six points, while Chandler Stewart placed fourth at 19.48 and scored five points.

Beever took third place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 44.68 and scored six points. Capehart was fifth at 45.90 and scored four points, while Cody Casebeer was sixth and scored three points with a time of 46.03.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Lion, Stewart, Beever and Horn placed fifth with a time of 3:58.00 and scored four points.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Pearson, Efurd, Cooper and Lasater took second place and scored eight points with a time of 9:07.00.

Lasater finished in a tie for third overall in the high jump with a mark of 5 feet, 2 inches and scored 5.5 points. Horn finished in a tie for seventh at 4-10 and scored 1.5 points.

Blake Jackson placed third in the pole vault at 12 feet, 3 inches and scored six points.

Christian Torres placed 14th in the long jump at 14-11.

Horn placed fifth and scored four points in the triple jump at 35-5.

Cody Washington took third place in the shot put with a throw of 38-5 and scored six points. Tallon Nation's throw of 34-6 was good enough for 11th place.

Kyler Duncan placed second in the discus and scored eight points with a throw of 123 feet, 4.5 inches, while Kris Greene threw 112-5 for a fourth place finish and scored five points. Washington placed sixth at 109-1.5 and scored three points.

Lady Panthers

The Siloam Springs girls finished with 137 points to win the meet ahead of Pea Ridge 117.5, Elkins 89, Gentry 45, Shiloh Christian 42, West Fork 33, Gravette 31, Prairie Grove 25.5, Decatur 20 and Lincoln 15.

Angelica Lange placed sixth overall in the 100-meter dash and scored three points with a time of 13.59, while Autumn Casey was eighth and scored one point at 13.79. Allison Creasey finished 10th at 14.05.

Lange placed eighth in the 200-meter dash and scored one point with a time of 28.69, while Casey finished ninth at 29.03. Rebekah Hill placed 11th at 29.17.

Hill placed fourth overall in the 400-meter relay with a time of 1:07.00 and scored five points, while Alexis Duffy placed fifth and scored four points with a finish of 1:07.71.

Duffy finished second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:39.00, Sidney Avery placed fifth and scored four points at 3:10.00 and Maddy Hancock eighth and scored one point at 3:35.00.

Jasmine Guillen placed first in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:57.00 and scored 10 points. Hannah Herring placed second at 6:05.00 and scored eight points, while Avery was sixth and scored three points at 7:07.00.

Guillen also won the 3,200-meter relay with a personal record of 12:43.00 and scored 10 points. Herring placed third and scored six points with a time of 13:39.00.

Taylor Gay, who was the meet's high point scorer, won the 100-meter hurdles and scored 10 points with a time of 16.34.

Gay also won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.99 and scored 10 points.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Gay, Casey, Hill and Lange finished second with a time of 53.49 and scored eight points.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Gay, Casey, Hill and Duffy finished first with a time of 4:33.00 and scored 10 points.

Duffy finished first in the high jump with a height of 4 feet, 10 inches and scored 10 points. Gay also competed in the high jump and finished fourth with a height of 4-4, scoring five points.

Gay finished first in the pole vault at 9-6 and scored 10 points.

Casey took first place in the long jump with a distance of 14 feet, 11.5 inches and scored 10 points.
