The Quacking Duck of Siloam Springs

This concerns one lone duck and the powers that be. For clarity I will call him Duck and call the powers that be Them.

In this day of political correctness I will just say Duck has the ability to get up the noses of Them.

Every time Them wants to give away other peoples money Duck quacks. He can't be turned into duck soup cuz nobody knows whether he is a teal, mallard or wood duck. I think he might possibly be a mud duck and I would warn everyone mud ducks are considered unpalatable by many. With different hunting seasons for various persuasions of duck, hunters have to be very wary these days which duck they bag. The Herald Leader resident opiner once opined that Duck is an Aginner Duck. (The term aginner, according to the Great Opiner, means agin everything)

A foremost trait of Aginner Ducks is that they will always quack when Them wants to reach into the horn of plenty and dole out taxpayer money to various partnerships and Christian universities.

So many partnerships smell so fresh but are really a pile of stink. I was at the last meeting of the city fathers. The partnership with Cale sounded wonderful to me. It was laid out to the audience as a great savings for the city. We were told the benevolent owners of the property, out of the kindness lurking within their souls, were going to donate the land for the new street. Yes, their charity sounded overwhelming to me. I shed tears and had a warm glow thinking about this great kindness that will result in another traffic light on U.S. Highway 412 at the new avenue leading to Tahlequah Street and the hospital.

The city has ONLY to pay the cost of actually building the street. The city doesn't have to buy the land! Whoopee! I almost did cartwheels! The five policemen in attendance probably would have cuffed me and stuffed me for such exuberance though.

But in days of yore, the developer furnished the land, built the street with his own money, and then in a year deeded it to the city and they then became responsible for the upkeep. Looks like this partnership is a better deal for the developer than the city.

Quacking Aginner Ducks are truly needed!! Quack Quack Quack.
