Fayetteville White sweeps SSHS freshmen

Siloam Springs and Fayetteville White went toe-to-toe Monday night inside Panther Activity Center, and when the dust settled it was the Lady Bulldogs emerging with a 33-29 victory in a ninth-grade girls basketball game.

Siloam Springs (4-10) led 8-5 after the first quarter and pulled ahead 16-13 after both teams scored eight points in the second quarter.

White outscored the Lady Panthers 17-11 in the third quarter to take a 30-27 lead.

Neither team produced much offense in the fourth with the Lady Bulldogs outscoring the Lady Panthers 3-2 in the final period.

Chloe Price led the Lady Panthers with 12 points, eight of which she scored in the second half. Alexis Roach scored eight of her 11 points in the first half. Tigeris Quinn, Katie Kendrick and Hailey Dorsey each added two points for the Lady Panthers.

Boys

Fayetteville White opened up a big lead in the second quarter on Siloam Springs in the ninth-grade boys game and rolled to a 53-26 victory.

The Panthers (5-8) trailed 10-5 after the first quarter and fell behind 27-11 at halftime after the Bulldogs outscored them 17-6 in the second quarter.

Fayetteville took a 38-19 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Karson Clement and Baron Meek each scored six points to lead the Panthers. Jacob Wakefield had four points, while Murphy Perkins and Logan Kleckner each had three, and Kaiden Thrailkill and Micah Eldridge each scored two.

Up next

Both ninth-grade teams play at Bentonville Gold on Thursday, with the girls game at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys game at 6:45 p.m.
