The City Council met in regular session in council chambers of the City Administration building with Mayor Henry presiding.

The following was one of the items on the agenda.

Councilman Bynum, chairman of the Street and Alley committee, presented a proposal by the Chamber of Commerce for one-way "traffic circle" from Mt. Olive east on Central to Maxwell, south on Maxwell to Alpine and west on Alpine to Mt. Olive. After discussion, a motion was made by Jamison that Central Street from Mt. Olive east to Maxwell street, Maxwell Street south to Alpine street and Alpine west to Mt. Olive street be designated as one-way streets. The motion died for lack of a second.

The Siloam Springs High School track season ended after the state meet in Little Rock.

Steve Butler took the highest finals finish from Siloam, with a second place in the high jump with a leap of 6'4". The Lady Panthers' mile relay team took sixth place with a run of 4:20.309. The team was Melinda Kearly, Amy Moore, Kris Henry and Holly Robason.

Ribbons and medals in abundance were brought home to Siloam Springs when 10 seniors from the Siloam Springs Senior Activity Center participated in Northwest Arkansas Senior Games XXII in Harrison.

The seniors competed in an 8-ball pool tournament, bowling and in track and field events.

Winning or placing in the various events were:

• Nearine Ross: Basketball shoot, 1st place blue ribbon; 8-ball pool, gold and silver medals

• Rosalie Ashby: Baggo, 2nd place red ribbon

• Vivian Stockton: 200-meter and 499-meter walks, silver medal in each; nail pounding, 3rd place white ribbon

• Odel Hutchinson: Spincasting, 1st place blue ribbon; Daisy air gun, 2nd place red ribbon

• Glen Holloway: Daisy air gun and spincasting, 1st place blue ribbon in each; Baggo and nail pounding, 2nd place red ribbon in each; 8-ball pool, bronze medal

• Anna French: Baggo, 2nd place red ribbon

• Charlie Vaughn: Horseshoes, silver medal; basketball shoot, 1st place blue ribbon; softball throw and foottball throw, 2nd place red ribbon; Daisy air gun, 3rd place white ribbon

• Imogene Holloway: Standing long jump and running long jump, gold medal in each; javelin, silver medal; discus and shot put, bronze medal in each; Baggo, spincasting, football throw, basketball shoot, nail pounding, 1st place blue ribbon in each; Daisy air gun and softball throw, 2nd place red ribbon in each

• Kathy Patterson, director: 8-ball pool, gold medal; bowling, bronze medal

Lois Hutchinson was also a participant.
