Efurd places first in 110-meter hurdles

The Siloam Springs ninth-grade girls track team finished 11th overall out of 15 teams Tuesday at the Springdale Schools' Ninth-Grade Invitational held at Har-Ber High School.

Fayetteville won the meet with 127 points, while Bentonville was second at 112, followed by Springdale Central 112.5, Greenland 40, Van Buren 32, Rogers 29, Springdale George 29, Farmington 23.5, Rogers Heritage 21, Springdale Southwest 21, Siloam Springs 18, Cedarville 11, Bentonville West 7, Springdale Lakeside 5 and Gentry 4.

Quincy Efurd placed first in the girls 100-meter hurdles and scored 10 points with a time of 18.77 seconds, while Chelsea McWhorter placed 15th at 22.41.

The Lady Panthers' 4x800-meter relay team of Ashlyn Walker, Bethany Mejia, Hannah Pittman and Rebecca Largent placed fourth overall and scored five points with a time of 11:58.40.

Efurd placed eighth and scored a point in the triple jump at 27 feet, 6 inches.

Makaylee Reicheneker placed seventh in the shot put and scored two points with her throw of 28-0.

Camryn Kendrick placed 10th in the long jump at 13-3.5.

Reicheneker finished 13th in the discus with a throw of 54-5.5.

Kendrick placed 11th in the 100-meter dash at 15.23, while Jaebri Johnston was 19th at 16.13.

Abby Thompson placed 15th in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 7:31.27, while Kendra Reimer was 17th at 7:40.38.

Boys

The Siloam Springs ninth-grade boys placed ninth overall in the ninth-grade boys meet. Springdale Central was first with 110 points, while Fayetteville was second at 104, followed by Bentonville 82, Rogers 68.75, Springdale Lakeside 57.75, Springdale Southwest 41, Bentonville West 27.75, Rogers Heritage 18, Siloam Springs 14, Cedarville 12, Gentry 11, Greenland 10, Farmington 9, Van Buren 8.75 and Springdale George 5.

Keondre Westbrook placed second overall in the discus and scored eight points with a throw of 135-10, while Alexis Miranda had a toss of 91-3.

Westbrook took third in the shot put and scored six points with a throw of 43-10.5.

Keegan Soucie placed 31st in the 100-meter dash at 13.80, while Jeff Palvinson was 32nd at 13.82 and Ben Humphries was 38th at 14.98.

Solomon Hufford placed 24th in the 1,600-meter run at 6:09.36.

Up next

The ninth-graders are scheduled to compete in the Gravette Junior High Meet on Tuesday.
