Timothy Jake Dixon

Timothy Jake Dixon passed away from this life into Heaven's arms on October 4, 2018, at his home. He was born in Siloam Springs, Ark., on August 16, 1962.

Tim is survived by his mother, Donetta Samuels, and father Tom Dixon and wife Alice Dixon of Springfield, Ark. Tim has one sister and three brothers: Susan (Dean) Miller, David Dixon, Mike (Jennifer) Samuels all of Siloam Springs and Marty (Jennifer) Samuels of Russellville, Ark.

Tim was a graduate of Siloam Springs High School. He also served in the United States Army. Tim's passion was working on old cars. Tim loved passing out candy, visiting and telling jokes to his family and friends around town.

Tim was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident in 1990 where he suffered a severe head injury. Tim spent six weeks in a coma and two years in rehabilitation. Tim was a fighter and exceeded all expectations. He knew no limitations with his disability. He was able to live independently and drove his little truck for the past 25 years.

Tim loved First Christian Church where he has been a member for over 40 years.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the prayers and outpouring of love they have received.

Bessie Herrington

Bessie Marie Herrington, 74, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Oct. 3, 2018, in her home.

She was born April 17, 1944, in Rogers, Ark., to Andrew Jackson Edwards and Minnie E. Neighbarger Edwards. She married James Herrington and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Joy Coleman; three brothers, Junior, John and J.R; her husband; and a son, James Neal.

She is survived by her children, Christina Herrington of Siloam Springs, John Herrington and his wife Susan of Gentry, Ark., Christopher Herrington of Siloam Springs, Cindy Herrington of Siloam Springs, and Megan Herrington of Siloam Springs; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Sally Fox of Nixa, Mo.; and two brothers, Bob Edwards of Kansas, Okla., and Bill Edwards of Bentonville, Ark.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.

Paul Philpot, 80, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Oct. 3, 2018, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

He was born June 24, 1938, in Siloam Springs to Jake Philpot and Virginia Huffman Philpot. He married Beverly Pickens on Jan. 20, 1958, and was a life-long resident of Siloam Springs. He worked for Jet Stream Plastics as a transportation manager and he also was a police officer for the city of Siloam Springs. He enjoyed watching local sports and was a member of Harvard Avenue Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Wanda Shook; and his wife Beverly.

He is survived by a daughter, Paula Jensen and husband Bruce of Willis, Texas; two sons, Craig Philpot and wife Shari of Rocky Ford, Okla., and Kevin Philpot and wife Sarah of Siloam Springs; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Wallace Philpot of Grapevine, Texas, and Bruce Philpot and wife Suzanne of Galveston, Texas.

Visitation will be 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.

George Winningham

George Winningham, 66, of Gentry, Ark., died Sept. 18, 2018, at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital.

He was born Nov. 6, 1951, at Siloam Springs, Ark., to Adrill Winningham and Barbara Peek Winningham. He was a truck driver and a jack-of-all-trades. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother Ray.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Winningham of Gentry, Ark.; his daughters, Kristy Bass of Coweta, Okla., and Mystery Hammer of Siloam Springs; two sisters, Jo Ann Clark and husband Ronnie of Berryville, Ark., and Gail Henline and husband Rick of Springdale, Ark.; a brother, Mac Winningham and wife Lenora of Rogers, Ark.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Gentry.
