Ninth-graders compete at Pea Ridge Invitational

The Siloam Springs ninth-grade boys finished fifth overall Tuesday at the Pea Ridge Junior High Invitational held at Blackhawk Stadium in Pea Ridge.

Pea Ridge won the meet with 120 points, followed by West Fork 81, Bentonville Fulbright 75.5, Decatur 59, Siloam Springs 49, Shiloh Christian 46, Gentry 33, The New School 28, Springdale George 23.5, Gravette 22.5, Prairie Grove 17, Farmington 14, Elkins 13.5, Life Way Christian 12, Greenland 8, Southeast (Mo.) 7, Providence 6, Northwest Arkansas Classical 4, St. Joseph Catholic 4 and Don Tyson School of Innovation 1.

Jace Sutulovich placed first in the discus with a throw of 143 feet, 1 inch, while Truman Janes was fourth at 125-9, Justus Locke sixth at 116-4.

Sutulovich took first place in the shot put at 48-3, while Caden McHaney was fourth at 41-3 and Janes fifth at 40-5.5.

Ty Lewis placed fourth in the triple jump at 36-2.

Javier Chavez placed fifth in the 1,600-meter run at 5:33.45, while Liam Scott was eighth at 5:38.05 and Nathen Thurstenson 18th at 5:58.10.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Lewis, Zaidner, Chavez, McDaniel placed seventh at 4:17.43.

Chavez placed ninth in the 800-meter run at 2:26.38, Scott was 16th at 2:30.76. and Thurstenson 23rd at 2:40.65.

Jake McDaniel was ninth in the 110-meter hurdles at 20.71.

Lewis placed 10th in the long jump at 16-7, while Zaidner was 14th at 16-5.5.

Keegan Fesler placed 16th in the high jump at 4-10.

McHaney placed 18th in the 100-meter hurdles at 12.97, while Zaidner was 25th at 13.21

Cade Gunter placed 32nd in the 400-meter dash at 1:08.00

McDaniel took 22nd in the 300-meter hurdles at 55.49.

Ninth-grade girls

The ninth-grade girls finished 13th out of 19 schools in the girls meet.

Bentonville Fulbright was first with a score of 116.5, followed by Pea Ridge 87, Shiloh Christian 73, West Fork 56, Farmington 52, Gravette 50, Life Way Christian 33, St. Vincent De Paul 32, Providence 26.5, Prairie Grove 23, Gentry 22, Southwest (Mo.) 16, Siloam Springs 15, Northwest Arkansas Classical 10, Greenland 4, St. Joseph Catholic 3, Springdale George 2, Elkins 2, and The New School 1.

Brianna Wood placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 74-6, while Chloe Chandler was fifth at 71-5 and Cora Dewey seventh at 70-3.

Dewey placed fifth in the shot put at 29-9, while Chandler was 15th at 27-4.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Hannah Glass, Kami Hulbert, Brooke Douthit and Hannah McCarver placed 13th at 5:15.28.

Hulbert placed 15th in the 300-meter hurdles at 1:00.98, while McCarver was 22nd at 1:03.89 and Douthit 28th at 1:08.13.

Glass placed 18th in the 400-meter run at 1:13.33.

Glass placed 31st in the 800-meter run at 3:10.70.

McCarver placed 29th in the 200-meter dash at 33.41, while Douthit placed 39th at 35.17.

McCarver finished 32nd in the 100-meter dash at 15.39, while Douthit was 49th at 16.43.
