SSHS drops pair of softball doubleheaders

The Siloam Springs softball team remained winless on the season last week after dropping a pair of 5A-West Conference doubleheaders at Greenbrier on Tuesday and at home against Beebe on Wednesday.

Against Beebe, the Lady Panthers dropped game one 17-0 as Beebe's Hannah Gammill hit a pair of home runs and drove in five runs for the Lady Badgers.

Beebe scored nine runs in the top of the first, six in the second and two more in third for the run-rule victory.

Beebe (9-3, 5-1) defeated Siloam Springs 17-1 in game two.

Beebe jumped on Siloam Springs (0-11, 0-6) in game two, taking a 5-0 lead in the first inning and scoring two more in the second, seven in the third and three more in the fourth.

Siloam Springs scored its only run on a solo home run by Micah Curry in the bottom of the fourth. The home run was hit over the right-center field fence and was Curry's third home run of the season.

Greenbrier 19-13, Siloam Springs 0-0

GREENBRIER -- The Siloam Springs softball team was swept in a pair of 5A-West Conference games on Tuesday afternoon at Greenbrier.

In game one, Greenbrier plated 11 runs and then scored eight more in the bottom of the second inning. The game ended with a 19-0 loss in three innings.

Game two was much closer as Greenbrier led 2-0 after the first inning and added a single run in the second and two more in the third to take a 5-0 lead.

Greenbrier (8-3, 6-0) scored eight runs in the fourth to take a 13-0 lead, and the game was called via the sportsmanship rule after five innings.

Up next

Siloam Springs is scheduled to play at Lincoln for a nonconference game on Monday.
