Junior high teams place high at Elkins

The Siloam Springs junior high boys placed second overall Friday at the Elkins Junior High Invitational.

The Panthers, who used eighth and ninth grade athletes, scored 95 points and finished behind Bentonville Lincoln, which won the meet with 119.50 points. West Fork finished third at 80, followed by Gentry 79.5, Elkins 44, The New School 44, Prairie Grove 33.5, Shiloh Christian 26, Life Way Christian 22, Decatur 17, Lincoln 16.5, Northwest Arkansas Classical 15, St. Joseph 12, Prism Education Center 9, St. Paul 7 and Providence 1.

Siloam Springs, as it has done all season, dominated the throwing competitions, scoring 42 of its 95 points.

The Panthers scored 24 in the shot put with Jace Sutulovich placing first at 50 feet, 7 inches, followed in second by Truman Janes at 41-11 and Caden McHaney in third at 41-0.

Janes finished first in the discus at 143-2, while Sutulovich threw a mark of 125-5 to place second with Trenton Dry in ninth at 93-4.

Caleb Rodgers finished tied for first in the pole vault at 8-0, while Daxton Moody placed ninth at 6-6.

Christian Ledeker won the triple jump at 39-9.5, while Dylan Garcia placed 10th at 31-3 and Kevin Pettit 14th at 29-3.

Ledeker also placed first in the 110-meter hurdles at 17.56 seconds.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Malachi Becan, McHaney, Ledeker and Rauch placed second at 50.10.

The Panthers 4x800-meter relay team of Garcia, Nathen Thurstenson, Ronald Mancia and Rodgers placed third at 9:56.52.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Javier Chavez, Liam Scott, Mancia and Garcia placed fourth at 4:09.10.

Chavez took fourth in the 800-meter run at 2:18.72, with Scott placing 10th at 2:21.60 and Thurstenson 17th at 2:35.37.

Keegan Fesler placed ninth in the high jump at 5-0, while Michael Rauch also jumped a mark of 5-0.

Mancia placed ninth in the 400-meter dash at 1:01.55 with Gunter placing 15th at 1:04.19 and Fesler 30th at 1:18.95.

McHaney placed 10th in the 100-meter dash at 12.58, while Rauch was 17th at 13.01 and Pettit 21st at 13.47.

Thurstenson placed 13th in the 1,600-meter run at 5:53.25.

Jake McDaniel placed 14th in the 300-meter hurdles at 53.31, while Moody was 20th at 56.70.

Kevin Depaz placed 15th in the 200-meter dash at 29.30 with Becan 17th at 29.56.

Girls

The Lady Panthers finished third overall in the girls meet.

Bentonville Lincoln took first with 228 points, followed by Shiloh Christian with 64, Siloam Springs 59, West Fork 55, Providence 49, Haas Hall 26.5, Gentry 25, Prairie Grove 23.5, St. Joseph 23, Life Way 20, The New School 16, Northwest Arkansas Classical 10, Mena 10, Elkins 8, Decatur 6.

Chloe Chandler placed first in the discus with a throw of 74-11, while Cora Dewey placed sixth at 67-6 and Brooke Ross 10th at 62-9.

Makaylee Reichenecker finished third in the shot put at 30-5, while Dewey was sixth at 29-0 and Chandler tied for eighth at 28-8.

Ellis placed third in the triple jump at 29-4.5, while Wleklinski was 11th at 25-6 and Church 17th at 23-9.5.

Cailee Johnson placed third in the 100-meter hurdles at 17.76, while Kami Hulbert was 14th at 20.23.

Johnson placed fourth in the 300-meter hurdles at 53.20, while Hulbert was 11th at 59.30 and Brooke Douthit 17th at 1:04.64.

Ellis placed sixth in the 100-meter dash at 13.84 with Hannah McCarver 20th at 15.07 and Douthit 27th at 15.63.

Ellis was sixth in the 200-meter dash at 29.91 with McCarver 13th at 31.56

Cailee Johnson took sixth in the pole vault at 6-0.

Faith Ellis was seventh in the long jump at 14-6.5, while Annalise Wleklinski was 23rd at 11-5.5 and Clara Church 29th at 10-6.25.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Ellis, Church, Wleklinski and Johnson placed fifth at 57.62.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Douthit, Hannah Glass, McCarver and Hulbert placed sixth at 4:55.45.

The Lady Panthers' 4x800-meter relay team of Ross, Joy Nam, Emily Brown and Ariella Vogus placed seventh at 12:38.06.

Ross took ninth in the high jump at 4-4.

Glass finished 13th in the 400-meter dash at 1:12.37, while Brown was 15th at 1:13.99.

Vogus placed 16th in the 800-meter run at 3:04.06 with Nam placing 27th at 3:26.36.

Nam placed 20th in the 1,600-meter run at 7:44.87.
