Softball falls to 0-8 in conference

The Siloam Springs softball team dropped to 0-8 in conference play Wednesday after a doubleheader loss to Greenwood at La-Z-Boy Softball Park.

Greenwood (15-3, 8-0) won the first game 19-1 in four innings before taking the second game 16-0 in four innings.

In game one, Greenwood scored four runs in the first inning and three runs in both the second and third innings. After Siloam Springs scored its only run of the game in the third on a Micah Curry double to score Sydney Smith to make it 10-1, the Lady Bulldogs exploded for nine runs in the fourth to set the final score.

Ally Sockey hit a home run and had two hits and four RBIs for Greenwood, while Angela Price had a hit and three RBIs. Paxtyn Hayes had two hits and two RBIs, while Karli Fisher and Macey Cutsinger each had two RBIs.

Haven Clements got the win in game one with nine strikeouts.

Harley Terry had three hits and three RBIs in game two, while Sockey had two hits and two RBIs. Fisher added two RBIs for Greenwood.

Rheding Wagoner pitched a complete game for Greenwood with seven strikeouts in game two.

Providence Academy 10, Siloam Springs 7

The Lady Panthers fell to 0-15 overall Thursday with a 10-7 loss at Providence Academy in Rogers.

Micah Curry led the Lady Panthers offensively, batting 4 for 4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, including stealing home on a delayed steal.

Sydney Smith and Hilarie Buffington each had two hits and scored two runs. Both of Smith's hits were doubles and she had one RBI.

Aislyn Burchette had two hits and two RBIs, including a sacrifice fly.
