SSHS baseball swept at LR Christian

n The Panthers fell to sixth place in the 5A-West.

The Siloam Springs baseball team dropped to 8-14 overall and 5-5 in 5A-West Conference play this past Tuesday after being swept at Little Rock Christian.

The Warriors (16-4, 8-2), who are in first place in the league, won Game 1 by a 4-1 score before finishing off the sweep in Game 2 with an 11-1 win in five innings.

With the losses, Siloam Springs dropped to sixth in the conference standings behind LRC, Greenbrier (7-3), Vilonia (7-3), Russellville (7-3) and Greenwood (6-4).

Game 1

LR Christian 4, Siloam Springs 1

The Warriors snapped a 1-1 tie with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning of Game 1 to take the lead for good.

Little Rock Christian added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth.

John White pitched a complete game for Little Rock Christian, allowing only three hits.

Siloam Springs scored its only run in the top of the second inning when Taylor Pool hit a solo home run, his second of the season.

Landon Ellis pitched a complete game for Siloam Springs, allowing seven hits and three earned runs in six innings of work with three walks and two strikeouts.

Ellis gave up a solo home run to G. Allen in the fifth inning.

Game 2

LR Christian 11, Siloam Springs 1

The Warriors scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a commanding lead in Game 2.

Little Rock Christian added a single run in the third to go up 6-0.

The Panthers got a run back in the top of the fourth, but the Warriors came back with four in the fifth to go up 10-1 and added another run in the sixth for a run-rule victory.

Jackson Woodard limited the Panthers to just one hit in Game 2 with six strikeouts.

Baron Meek had the Panthers' only hit, and Reed Willbanks scored the only run.

Gavin Henson was the losing pitcher for the Panthers, giving up eight hits, eight earned runs in 4 1/3 innings. Tanner Broyles pitched the final 1 1/3 innings for the Panthers before giving up LRC's final run with two outs in the sixth inning for the run rule.
