We are to follow Christ's teachings

I am not sure why Mr. Piper thinks he knows what scriptures are saying. He tried, unsuccessfully, to tell us that the Bible verses about Christ's birth were wrong and did not agree. But he was wrong on both accounts.

Now he brings up a very well-known verse from II Chronicles and tries to tell us we are taking it out of context. Christians know exactly what is before verse 14. What you seemed to have missed is why God would shut up the heavens and make the land desolate. When we, as believers, do not follow what He has told us to do then He has warned His people that He will let bad things happen, either as a group or individual. The people around the Hebrews were sacrificing children, virgins. They were murderers, rapists, thieves and liars.

Does Mr. Piper think these are okay to do? Probably not. We are to follow Christ and His teachings. They are not hard or impossible to do. But, we are human. We mess up. But under Christ's blood, if we repent, we can be forgiven.

So Mr. Piper, please understand two things. God is sovereign. It is a good thing to follow Him and His Son Jesus.
