Ninth-grade boys lose at Bentonville

BENTONVILLE -- Bentonville clamped down defensively on the Siloam Springs ninth-grade boys and handed the Panthers a 31-23 loss Monday night at Tiger Arena.

Bentonville led 11-8 after the first quarter and 19-14 at halftime. The Tigers pulled ahead 27-18 entering the fourth quarter.

Josh Stewart led the Panthers (16-5, 6-2 Northwest Arkansas Conference) with 11 points, while Brendan Lashley had eight and Caden Pharr and Jedi Hunter each with two.

Ninth-grade girls

The Siloam Springs ninth-grade girls lost their fourth straight on Monday 41-25 to Bentonville.

The Lady Tigers led 9-7 after the first quarter and 18-10 at halftime. Bentonville carried a 30-15 lead into the fourth quarter.

Hannah Riley led Siloam Springs (4-17, 1-7) with 12 points, while Reina Tiefel had seven, Halle Hernandez five and Jaydah Walker one.

Eighth-grade boys

The Siloam Springs eighth-grade boys were defeated 44-18 on Monday night at Rogers Elmwood.

The Panthers dropped to 8-7 overall with the loss.

Nathan Vachon led the Panthers with eight points, while Marcus Molina had four, Dalton Newman three, Connor Clayton two and Levi Fox one.

Eighth-grade girls

The Siloam Springs eighth-grade girls won their fifth straight game Monday night with a 45-16 win at Rogers Elmwood.

Siloam Springs led 14-4 after the first quarter and 27-11 at halftime. The Lady Panthers took a 31-16 lead into the fourth quarter, where they outscored the Lady Raiders 14-0.

Mimo Jacklik led the Lady Panthers (14-2) with a career-high 22 points, while Brooke Ross had 11, Brooke Smith eight and Anna Wleklinski and Sophia Stephenson each with two.

Seventh-grade boys

The Siloam Springs seventh-grade boys dropped a 57-19 loss at Rogers Elmwood on Monday night.

Elmwood led 21-3 after the first quarter and 38-12 at halftime. The Raiders extended their lead to 46-17 going into the fourth quarter.

Nolan Wills led the Panthers (8-6) with six points, while Logan Keaton and Cayden Hansen each had four, Ben Stratmen and Eric Deibler each with two and Diego Carrizal one.

Seventh-grade girls

The Siloam Springs seventh-grade girls won their third straight 17-15 at Rogers Elmwood on Monday night.

Siloam Springs led 4-2 after the first quarter and the game was tied 8-8 at halftime. The Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Raiders 7-0 in the third quarter to take a 15-8 lead going into the fourth.

Chaney Stanaland led the Lady Panthers (8-6) with 10 points, Lexi Masters four, Ellen Slater two and Emily Keehn one.

The ninth-grade teams play at Fayetteville Purple next Monday. The seventh- and eighth-grade teams wrap up regular season play on Thursday night at home against Bentonville Fulbright.
