The John Brown University Cathedral Choir will kick off its spring tour with a concert at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 15, at the Village Baptist Church on 380 Glasgow Rd.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Audiences will enjoy a variety of musical styles including Renaissance and Baroque favorites by Palestrina and Handel, to more modern and contemporary works by René Clausen, Kim André Arnesen, Susan Brumfield and Moses Hogan.

The spring tour will take the choir to Texas before returning to Arkansas for a concluding concert at JBU on Tuesday, March 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Berry Performing Arts Center.

The Cathedral Choir has toured extensively all over the U.S. and in Northern Ireland. In addition to annual tours, the choir is featured in the annual Candlelight Service at JBU each December.

In 2014, the Cathedral Choir recorded a CD while on a mission tour in Northern Ireland. The CD will be on sale at the choir's appearance, along with a three-CD set of the Best of the Cathedral Choir 1992-2016.
