Letter to the Editor

A kind deed

On Thursday, Feb. 28, I watched as two elderly women were attempting to cross a wet and slick Tulsa Street. They were pushing carts filled with groceries.

Wishing I could help them, I was so happy to see the driver of the city sanitation department vehicle stop to help. He had just finished picking up recycling material in Colonial Estates mobile home park.

He crossed Tulsa Street, helped both ladies, and their groceries, off the curb and to their destination.

I asked his name and he said it was "Rocky." Thank you Rocky for showing such kindness.

I called the sanitation department to commend him and the entire department, but a special thanks to Rocky. It is nice to see gestures of kindness such as this.
