Over 100 people attended a meeting at Beaver Springs School House on March 4, to hear plans of how to go about incorporating the city of West Siloam Springs.

Speakers were Van Owens from F.H.A.; Allen Thatcher, tax assessor; and Dick Lock, attorney for Legal Aid.

Mr. Owens explained the advantages of incorporation in obtaining loans for water, sewer and other facilities.

Mr. Thatcher told the group that there would be no extra taxes unless the residents voted them.

Mr. Lock told of the steps necessary for incorporation. He also told of his work in helping Colcord, Little Kansas and other area towns, to incorporate. He further explained that nothing could be done by "voting" but petitions had to be signed by the residents in the proposed area.

Further plans would be discussed at the next meeting.
