Several local races contested in 2020

Several races for county and state level positions serving Siloam Springs will be contested during the 2020 election cycle, according to election filing records.

The election filing period for local and state level candidates was Nov. 4 through 12.

State Rep. Robin Lundstrum (R-District 87) of Elm Springs will face a democratic challenger in the upcoming election cycle, according to state records.

Michael Bennett-Spears of Siloam Springs also filed to run for the District 87 seat, according to the website for Arkansas Secretary of State John Thurston, ark.org/elections. Lundstrum has held the position since 2015.

At the Benton County level, incumbent Republican Kurt Moore, Justice of the Peace for Benton County Quorum Court District 13, will face Democrat Haley Emerick, county records state.

Republican Ron Homeyer was the only candidate to file for Justice of the Peace District 12, formerly held by appointee James Furgason.

In the race for Constable for Township 5, Libertarian David Humphrey filed to run against incumbent Republican Michael Savage Jr.

At the local level, incumbent Travis Jackson is running uncontested for Siloam Springs School Board Zone 5.

Primary and school board elections are scheduled for March 3 and the general election will take place on Nov. 3.
