SSHS golf teams sweep home match

The Siloam Springs golf teams picked up a pair of team victories on Monday in the first home match of the season at The Course at Sager's Crossing.

"The kids did great and pulled out a home field win," said golf coach Brooke DeGaish.

In the boys match, Siloam Springs senior Nate Vachon shot a nine-hole round of 43 to earn medalist honors as the Panthers defeated Alma 188 to 209. Lincoln brought two individuals and did not have enough players for a team score.

In addition to Vachon's 43, freshman A.J. Moore carded a 45, while Cam Blackfox shot 48, Will Van Asche 52 and Landon Pool 55 to complete the Panthers' team score of 188.

Miles Kendrick led Alma with a 48, while Byron Standridge shot 49, Pierson Howell 53 and Matthew Rodgers 59.

Lincoln's Paxton Price shot 50, while Kase Ingram shot 55.

In junior varsity action for Siloam Springs, Jaxson Devoe shot 56, Corbin Crook 64, Jack Birr 66 and Jake Mehlburger 69.

Girls

The Lady Panthers fielded a team score of 180 to defeate Lincoln's total of 183 in the girls match.

Senior Brooke Ross led Siloam Springs with a 59, while Jasmin Labitad shot 60, Reese Sutulovich shot 61 and Bailey Church 67.

Kaylin Osnes led Lincoln with 59, while Makenna Doyle and Morgan Reeves each shot 62, Kristen Rhine and Madison Wantland each with 63 and Zella Pomeroy 64.

Alma only had one girls golfer and did not field a team score, however, Presli Taylor's 44 was the low round of the afternoon for medalist honors.

The Siloam Springs golf team is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday at home against Providence Academy before travling to Springdale on Thursday to face Springdale High and Springdale Har-Ber at The Links at Springdale.
