Adair County man arrested on drug charges

WATTS, Okla. -- An Adair County man was arrested on charges of manufacturing controlled substances, possession of Schedule II narcotics and felony possession of a firearm.

Police served a search warrant to Henry Walter Ross, 50, on July 31.

Cherokee Nation Marshals and Watts Police seized two marijuana plants, two firearms, and products associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine, according to police documents.

Police found two marijuana plants growing behind Ross' home, two loaded firearms with a round in the chamber -- one with serial numbers scratched off, and a clear plastic liter bottle with a whitish-colored substance that is associated with manufacturing methamphetamine, according to a probable cause affidavit issued by the Adair District Attorney's office.

Ross was arrested and charged with one felony count of manufacturing a controlled substance -- methamphetamine; one felony count of possession of land that produces a Schedule I controlled substance; one felony count of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance; felony possession of a firearm; one felony count of possession of firearm while committing or attempting to commit a felony; one felony count of maintaining a building for keeping or selling a controlled substance.

Ross remains in custody at the Adair County Jail on a $38,000 bond.
