From City of Siloam Springs website The four ward seats on the Board of Directors will be up for election this fall.

Three incumbents on the Board of Directors have filed for their positions. Four positions on the board will be up for election in November.

Incumbents who have filed are Dennis Brown of Ward 1, Brad Burns of Ward 2 and Judy Nation of Ward 4. Brown was elected to the Ward 1 seat in April 2013. On May 20, Burns was elected to the Ward 2 seat. Nation has served on the board for 15 years.

In other election business, the unofficial results for the Ward 2 election on May 20 were certified Tuesday. The certified results are no different than the unofficial results. Brad Burns received 143 votes or 59 percent of the vote and Bob Highfill had 84 votes.

Chad Raith is running against Brown. Ken Kloet is running against Burns. Frank Johnson and David VanSandt are running for the Ward 3 position. Amy Smith is running against Nation for the Ward 4 seat.

Filing deadline was noon Thursday.

Because no more than two candidates filed for a position, a primary election will not be needed. The election for the four positions will take place in the general election Nov. 4.

Residents can only vote for a candidate who lives in the same ward they do. For example, a resident who lives in Ward 2 cannot vote for a Ward 4 candidate.

Ward 1 includes the northwest section of the city.

Ward 2 includes the northeast section of the city.

Ward 3 encompasses the southeast part of the city.

Ward 4 makes up the southwest part of the city.

The positions have four-year terms.
