CAVE SPRINGS -- The Siloam Springs golf teams enjoyed strong rounds of golf on Tuesday at The Creeks Golf Course.
The Panthers shot a low-round of 111 in a count-three match against Shiloh Christian (122), Prairie Grove (124) and Elkins (161), and a count-four total of 150 to defeat Alma (131, 176). The Lady Panthers, meanwhile, finished third out of five teams with a count-three score of 156.
Panthers
Junior Aaron Jones shot his best round of golf in several weeks, carding a 36 and was the medalist for the Panthers.
Sophomore Cody Beyer was one stroke behind at 37, while seniors Brandon Coale and Cody Casebeer shot a 38 and 39 respectively. Senior Brendan Lee rounded out the Panthers' scoring with a 47.
"The boys are playing well and so close to where we want to be," said Siloam Springs golf coach Michael Robertson. "We played well at The Creeks."
Robertson said he looked back at Tuesday's score at The Creeks and the previous week's totals against Harrison and said the Panthers shot well enough on those days to be able to win the last two Class 6A State Tournaments.
In junior varsity action, Mitchell Baker shot a 44, while Noah Karp shot 46, Hunter Tilley 48 and Kyle Comiskey 50.
Lady Panthers
The Lady Panthers continued their season-long improvement on Tuesday with a good round.
Junior Amanda Glass carded a 47, while freshman Brinkley Beever shot a 49.
Sophomores Halle Hevener and Bailey Turner shot 60 and 64, respectively for Siloam Springs.
"Our girls are playing their best golf at the end which is good to see," Robertson said.
Rogers won the match shooting a 125. Shiloh Christian was second at 146, while Prairie Grove shot 176 and Elkins 181.

The Panthers and Lady Panthers have a busy week this week. They'll play Monday at Alma in a makeup of last Thursday's postponed match. On Tuesday the Panthers play at Rogers Heritage and on Saturday they travel to play in the Hurricane Invitational at Jonesboro Country Club, the site of the Class 6A State Boys Golf Tournament.
