Fall cleanup to begin Sept. 27

Fall Cleanup Week is Sept. 29 to Oct. 3. Items to be collected should be placed on the curb by Saturday, Sept. 27, and no later than 7 a.m. Monday, Sept.29. Crews will only make one sweep of the city and will not return for pickups.

Acceptable items include: appliances, furniture, mattresses, up to four used tires (without rims). Please bag or box all items possible.

Electronics must be taken to the transfer station. Free disposal will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3. These items including TVs, computers, monitors, microwaves, printers, fax machines, stereos. The transfer station is at 1108 E. Ashley. Proof of residency is required.

Paints, chemicals, fertilizers, household cleaners, batteries, oils, and fluorescent light bulbs must also be taken to the transfer station. There will be a $5 charge per load.

Yard waste is not included in the fall cleanup, but will be picked up on the regular monthly schedule.
